Lebanese Laws iOS Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 29, 2026. This policy covers the iOS app, including its service providers, advertisements and AI assistant. Bookmarks, notes, reading history and the local conversation remain on your device unless you choose to share them. This does not mean the app or its providers collect no data.

1. Synchronization and identifiers

Firebase downloads laws and directory content. Firebase Authentication signs the installation into an anonymous account with an assigned user ID, and App Check validates the app. Anonymous does not mean identifier-free: assistant requests carry an authentication token, and Firestore stores daily question counts under the user ID and date to enforce limits and prevent abuse. Hosting and service providers may process IP addresses, device information and operational logs.

2. AI assistant and documents

After you agree, the app sends your question, recent conversation context and relevant legal references to the secure Lebanese Laws backend, then to Google Gemini to generate a response. If you choose document analysis, the selected image is also sent. The app does not upload your entire photo library or address book. Questions and images may contain personal information you choose to provide; avoid unnecessary personal or sensitive content.

The reviewed backend application code does not archive question or document-image payloads. It separately stores usage-limit records. The service uses a paid Gemini project. Under Google's paid-service terms, prompts and responses are not used to improve its products, but Google may retain them for a limited period for safety, abuse prevention and required disclosures. Processing is therefore not confined to your device or free of collection. Hosting providers may also keep operational logs.

You can decline the assistant and continue using other features, or withdraw consent in the assistant privacy settings. Withdrawal stops future requests. Clearing the app's conversation deletes the local copy and does not promise deletion of prior provider logs. Dictation may use Apple's speech recognition service under your microphone/speech permissions and device settings.

3. Advertising and choices

Google AdMob serves and measures personalized and non-personalized ads. It may process IP-derived coarse location, device identifiers, advertising data, product interactions, crash data, performance data and other diagnostics. A device identifier may be used for cross-app or cross-website advertising and measurement when permitted.

The prepared iOS update adds Google UMP consent gathering and ad privacy choices where required, and requests Apple's tracking permission before loading ads when the permission is undecided. You can deny tracking and continue using the app; Google's ads SDK does not send IDFA if Apple permission is denied. UMP messages require AdMob configuration, and older releases may have different controls. Tracking permission can be changed in iOS Settings.

4. Security, retention and deletion

Assistant requests use HTTPS, authentication and App Check tokens. No transmission or storage method is absolutely secure. The current code does not set automatic expiration for daily usage records; contact us for privacy and deletion requests. Provider log and abuse-monitoring retention depends on provider policies and configuration. We do not promise immediate erasure or absence of backups.
